Running Injury Physio Sunshine Coast

Whether it's a niggle that won't go away or an injury that's pulled you off the road entirely - we'll find the cause, fix it properly, and get you back running stronger than before.

Still Running on a Niggle or Not Running at All?

Most runners do one of two things. They push through the pain until it becomes a real injury. Or they rest, it settles, they go back out - and three weeks later it's back.

Neither works long-term. Because the symptom isn't the problem. The way you load, move, and absorb force is the problem.

At Good Vibes Physio we treat the cause - not just the area that hurts.

Running Injuries We Treat on the Sunshine Coast

We work with recreational runners, parkrun regulars, half and full marathon runners, and triathletes across the Sunshine Coast.

  • Pain around or behind the kneecap that flares on hills, stairs or long runs. Usually a load management and hip strength issue - not just a knee issue.

  • That stiff, sore Achilles first thing in the morning or at the start of a run. One of the most mismanaged running injuries. Rest alone won't fix it - progressive loading will.

  • Shin pain that starts kilometres into a run or gets worse as training ramps up. A bone stress response that needs a structured return-to-run plan, not just time off.

  • Heel pain that's worst first thing in the morning or after sitting for long periods. Highly treatable with the right approach.

  • Sharp lateral knee pain that hits like clockwork at the same point in every run. A movement control and hip strength problem, not a stretching problem.

  • Persistent bone pain that doesn't settle with rest. Requires accurate diagnosis and a structured return to load - not guesswork.

  • From a sudden pop mid-run to a gradual tightening that won't resolve. Grade-dependent management with a clear return-to-running timeline.

  • Often overlooked as a source of running breakdown. Weakness or dysfunction here shows up as knee, Achilles or lower back pain on the road.

Why Running Injuries Keep Coming Back

Because most treatment stops at pain relief. The pain settles, you go back to running, the underlying issue hasn't changed - and you're back on the table six weeks later.

At Good Vibes Physio we don't discharge you when the pain goes. We build you back to full running capacity with objective milestones, progressive loading, and a plan you can actually follow alongside your training.

What to Expect at Good Vibes Physio

  • We assess how you move, how you load, and where the breakdown is happening. You leave your first appointment with a clear diagnosis and a plan - not "let's see how it goes."

  • We don't tell you to stop running unless we absolutely have to. Where possible we modify your training load so you stay active while you recover.

  • Our clinic is equipped with gym-based rehab equipment. Strength deficits are one of the most common drivers of running injury - we address them properly, not with theraband exercises.

  • If your injury needs more than a few sessions, we'll recommend one of our structured rehab programs - 4, 8 or 12 weeks with clear milestones and a defined finish line.
