Knee Injury Physio Sunshine Coast
Knee pain can make running, training and even everyday movement frustrating. We’ll work out what’s causing it, build back your strength and confidence, and help you return to the activities you enjoy.
Still Training on a Sore Knee or Avoiding What Sets It Off?
Most people with knee pain do one of two things. They push through it until training becomes harder, or they rest until it settles only for the pain to return when they start loading it again.
Neither fixes the problem long-term. Because where you feel the pain isn't always where the problem starts. Strength, movement, training load, and how your knee handles force all matter.
At Good Vibes Physio, we find out why your knee is hurting, then build it back strong enough for the things you want to do.
Knee Injuries We Treat on the Sunshine Coast
We work with runners, gym-goers, CrossFit and HYROX athletes, field sport athletes, and active people across the Sunshine Coast.
-
Pain around or behind the kneecap that can flare with running, stairs, squatting or longer periods of sitting. Often related to training load, strength and how the hip, knee and ankle work together.
-
Knee ligament injuries can happen after twisting, changing direction, awkward landings or direct impact. Rehab focuses on restoring movement, strength and knee stability before progressively returning you to running, training or sport.
-
Meniscus injuries can cause pain along the inside or outside of the knee, swelling, stiffness or catching sensations. We assess how the knee is moving and loading, then build strength and confidence around the joint.
-
Pain around the patellar tendon, usually just below the kneecap, commonly aggravated by jumping, running, squatting and high-load training. Treatment focuses on managing load and progressively rebuilding the tendon’s strength and capacity.
-
Knee osteoarthritis can cause pain, stiffness and reduced confidence with walking, stairs, squatting or exercise. The goal isn’t simply to avoid movement, we help improve strength, mobility and your ability to stay active comfortably.
Why Knee Injuries Keep Coming Back
Because most treatment stops when the pain settles. You rest, the knee feels better, you get back to running, lifting or sport but the strength, control or loading issue that contributed to it hasn't changed. Before long, the pain is back.
At Good Vibes Physio, we don't stop when your knee feels better. We rebuild the strength, stability and capacity it needs for the demands of your training, using objective milestones, progressive loading and a plan that fits around what you want to get back to.
What to Expect at Good Vibes Physio
-
We assess how you move, how you load, and where the breakdown is happening. You leave your first appointment with a clear diagnosis and a plan - not "let's see how it goes."
-
We don't tell you to stop running unless we absolutely have to. Where possible we modify your training load so you stay active while you recover.
-
Our clinic is equipped with gym-based rehab equipment. Strength deficits are one of the most common drivers of running injury - we address them properly, not with theraband exercises.
-
If your injury needs more than a few sessions, we'll recommend one of our structured rehab programs - 4, 8 or 12 weeks with clear milestones and a defined finish line.
